Barefoot Sanctuary celebrates fifth year at Whole Foods Market
On Jan. 11, Barefoot Sanctuary in Las Vegas, Nev., the only yoga studio in the United States located inside a Whole Foods Market, celebrated their fifth year at their Town Square location with a Rebirth Party. Bellydancers, acrobats, painted yogis and drummers performed in the store and kundalini yoga teacher Cosmin Dumitru led a complimentary class in the studio. Whole Foods Market laid out a spread of extraordinary cheeses, yummy kale chips, rich chocolate and more.
“Barefoot Sanctuary is about community. It’s about bringing people together,” said Alvin Tam, who owns the delightful studio with his wife Jada Fire.
“We offer a lot of soft-form yoga, expressive yoga, tribal trance dance and then there’s a little bit more intermediate advance style power-oriented, but not too much. Barefoot leans more towards the soft-form yoga practices,” explained Jada.
Barefoot Sanctuary is a unique yoga studio located in a unique place—on the Las Vegas Strip. While most yogis shudder at the mention of Las Vegas (are we being judgmental?), Jada feels Las Vegas is a spiritual city. Stay tuned for more on that.
